Japan Science and Technology Agency Innovative Technology Development Research Project
Cultivation of more innovative and practical technologies.
The Innovative Technology Development Research Project aims to pave the way for the future of industries in the next generation, while also establishing a new foundation for development in the 21st century through highly innovative and original technology research. This project widely solicits proposals from private companies, commissions research on excellent proposals, and seeks to foster more innovative and practical technologies. Until fiscal year 2003, this system was implemented by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as the "Creative Innovative Technology Development Research Proposal Solicitation System." Following the policy of transferring to an independent funding agency as indicated by the Council for Science and Technology Policy, it was transferred to JST starting from new topics in fiscal year 2004 and is currently being implemented.
